lan Stubbs is adamant that Everton Stadium can provide an even better atmosphere than Goodison.
The former Blues’ captain admitted to being “blown away” during a visit to the Club’s new 52,888-capacity waterfront home.
And Stubbs feels the close proximity of fans to the pitch and clever design features of the stadium will combine to create an unrivalled atmosphere.
He said: “The new home is looking very special and to all the Everton fans who are looking forward to being here and have only seen the video clips, it looks amazing from the footage, but it’s even more impressive in person.
“You wonder whether the pitch is going to be big enough and it just shows you how close the fans are going to be to the pitch, which keeps in tradition with Goodison."

Kirkby’s own son. Went to Roughwood and many people from those areas looked up to Stubbsy. He lived the dream and as a young lad from Kirkby in the 90’s lad if you read this just know you were a hero. You weren’t 20 years too late as the club is broken right now. You played under Moyes and even tho we won fuck all, the team and the fans were ALWAYS connected.

Listening to Alan Stubbs saying how jealous he's going to be at the first game , wouldn't it be fantastic to have as many retired players {or a family member) escort or precede the Everton players onto the pitch wearing replicas of their playing shirts.

I agree Ste, 52888 way too small. 30k+ Season ticket holders at Goodison, waiting list 30k+. Should be at least 60k. I realise it can be with safe standing but that will be if and when it's allowed

@@Dooguk I know PL and FA call it ‘safe standing’ but it’s not strictly safe standing - it’s actually rail seating. Safe standing (i.e. 3 fans per 2 seats) requires a change in the law by the government, but would increase BMD capacity to 62,000.

Silly little club with no trophies in how long how can you claim to be a big club when you havnt won a thing in 30 years and the atmosphere in that new ground will be lame it’s a dead duck lived next door to goodison and atleast it had heritage now you havnt even got that anfield is still that hallowed ground it allwsys was and allways will be you don’t even reach mediocrity allways fighting to stay up the only time I’ve seen an evertonian stay up is when I get my legs out

No you never what happened was half the club left and went to start a new club called Everton saint Domingo changed its name to Liverpool and saint Domingo played in black and red so allways been red mr myth and yes Everton was a bigger club then but you need to exept that the reds got bigger and better than you and they did it though playing better football and there is no where on earth like anfield when it erupts .see had you off again go and watch red rum win the national and feel the glory of coming from behind just like all good fairy tales that what’s special about 2005 just like red rum a fairy tale mate every now and then somthing very special happens and the underdog shows heart and leaves the world awestruck
